Why reward types matter

Keep the Door Locked promo codes do not unlock endings. They grant cash, revive tokens, and jumpscare tokens through the live CODE or Shop field. Knowing what each reward is for prevents two common mistakes: treating ENDING5 as a Blood Moon skip, and wasting a revive mid-panic when cameras would have saved the run.

Active strings and exact amounts live on the Codes hub. Redeem steps are in How to Redeem. This page explains how to use the rewards after they land.

After August 22, 2026 the live set is ENDING5 and NEWUISOON. The first wave is archived on Expired Codes. Reward sizes for the new strings disagree across roundups (5,000 versus 10,000 cash). Treat those as reported ranges.

Cash: buy time to observe

Cash from codes is the most common reward. Spend it on Shop Upgrades for flashlight, sanity, and walkspeed, not as a path to Blood Money (over 1,000,000).

Practical cash habits:

  1. Redeem before a serious ten-day attempt so shopping happens with a calm UI.
  2. Spend on tools that support camera checks and room control, not on skipping observation.
  3. Log balance changes separately if you are researching Blood Money.

Cash never replaces Camera and Door Decisions or Common Mistakes. A richer inventory still dies to a blind open.

Revive tokens: second chance, not a skill skip

The retired VISITS8MIL string granted a revive token plus cash. Community and guide roundups still describe revive tokens as a way to continue a run after being caught instead of restarting the survival loop from zero. New codes may or may not include another token — check what actually landed.

Treat that as a limited safety net:

  • Save revives for runs where you already invested many nights toward Ending 1.
  • Do not burn a revive to “test” random door openings.
  • After reviving, immediately re-check cameras, window stages, toilet stages, and shadow/hider state before the next knock.

A revive does not award Ending 2–4, Kindness, or Rat Buster. It only preserves progress you still have to finish correctly. Pair revive planning with Survive 10 Days and the Ending Tracker.

Jumpscare tokens: cosmetics and features, not endings

FIRST_CODE used to list a jumpscare token; some August 22 lists also attach one to NEWUISOON. Reliable code guides describe jumpscare tokens as unlocking specific features or visual items, not secret endings or badge cheats.

Use them when you want the cosmetic or feature unlock the shop/UI associates with that token. Do not expect a jumpscare token to:

  • spawn the katana visitor;
  • reveal the golden skeleton;
  • complete Blood Money;
  • grant Juan or dog Easter eggs.

If a video claims a jumpscare token auto-clears Ending 4, treat it as unverified. Ending routes stay on All Endings and Katana Ending.

Safe redeem workflow

  1. Join the official Keep the Door Locked experience.
  2. Open CODE or Shop, redeem one string at a time from the Codes hub.
  3. Confirm whether you received cash, a revive token, a jumpscare token, or a mix.
  4. Close the menu and return to the room loop before the next knock.

Never redeem on third-party “claim” sites, executors, or cookie forms. Those paths risk account theft and are covered on Scripts.

Update watch

After any new universe timestamp — including the August 22, 2026 code rotation — rejoin a fresh server, confirm whether redeem lives under CODE or Shop, and re-check the hub for new or expired strings. Expired claims move to Expired Codes. Patch context stays on Patch Notes.

Rewards help you stay alive long enough to learn the room. They do not decide who should enter. Keep the door locked until the cameras agree.
