Kindness Badge Guide

What Kindness actually confirms

Kindness is an official Keep the Door Locked badge whose text reads: You helped him last time, so you’re getting something in return. That sentence is the whole verified clue. It proves a two-step story exists: a helpful choice toward a male visitor or character, then a later payoff. It does not publish the visitor’s name, the exact help action, the day number, or whether every polite request qualifies.

Public award data puts Kindness among the more common optional badges — hundreds of thousands of awards and roughly a mid-teens win rate in recent Roblox snapshots — so the route is obtainable for careful players. Common does not mean automatic. Many players still miss it because they refuse every knock, spam through dialogue, or treat “help” as “open the door blindly.”

Use this page with Hidden Badges, the Visitors Guide, and the Badge Tracker. Redeem modest codes for cash if you need shop help, but codes do not grant Kindness.

Build a help-focused research night

Do not stack Kindness with Ending 4, Blood Money, Rat Buster, and Juan on the same night. One optional question per session keeps notes readable. Start from a stable loop: How to Play, Camera and Door Decisions, and Common Mistakes.

When a visitor asks for help, slow down:

  1. Check cameras and the hallway before you answer.
  2. Read the full request instead of clicking through.
  3. Separate “safe help” from “trust that ignores the feed.”
  4. Write what you did and what the room acknowledged afterward.

If the camera contradicts the story, keep the door locked. Kindness rewards a helpful chain; it does not override anomaly evidence. A dead run teaches nothing about a later return.

Recognize the “last time” structure

The badge wording implies memory across encounters: you helped him before, then something returns later. Practical implications:

  • Expect at least two related beats, not a single click.
  • The payoff may arrive on a later knock, a later night, or after you survive intervening threats.
  • The return might be an item, dialogue, protection, or another interaction — the badge never names the gift.

After any clear helpful choice, stay alert for a follow-up that feels like repayment. Do not invent a timer. Do not assume the first smiling visitor is the Kindness lead just because a thumbnail said so. Compare posture, dialogue, and camera details with other visitor types in the Visitors Guide.

Separate Kindness from Ending 3 and Ending 4

Ending 3 is accepting a strange grandma key. Ending 4 is trusting a man with a katana while something is already watching. Kindness is a help-and-return chain, not an ending badge. Mixing them creates false failures: you may help the wrong character, refuse a required trust choice, or celebrate a gift that was never Kindness.

Keep Ending routes on their own days: Grandma Key Ending, Katana Ending, All Endings. Use Kindness nights to practice saying yes only when cameras and prompts support a helpful, non-suicidal choice.

What to log when the badge awards

When Kindness unlocks, record:

  • which visitor or character you helped earlier;
  • what help looked like in prompts or actions;
  • what returned later;
  • room state, sanity, and whether an anomaly interrupted the chain.

If Kindness does not unlock after a helpful choice, record that too. Near-misses belong in theory notes, not as ticked boxes. Update the Badge Tracker only when Roblox awards the badge.

Safer habits while hunting kindness

  • Protect Door Breaker and Shadow Figure responses before chasing charity (Survive the Door Breaker, Banish the Shadow Figure).
  • Do not empty your sanity for a speculative help request (Sanity Guide).
  • Reject scripts that claim “auto Kindness.” Exploit tools risk bans and still fail narrative chains (Scripts).
  • After August 2026 code drops, cash is easier, but Kindness remains a decision badge, not a redeem string.

Kindness is one of the friendliest optional stories in Keep the Door Locked: help when the evidence supports it, watch for the return, and keep the door locked when the feed says no.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the hotel room, visitors, and endings.

How do I get the Kindness badge?

Help a qualifying male character once, then watch for a later return. Exact visitor identity and gift type are not fully published.

Is Kindness rare?

No. Public awards are high compared with Ending 4 or Blood Money, but you still need the help-and-return chain.

Does Kindness unlock an ending?

No. Kindness is a separate badge. Ending 1–4 have their own badge text and guides.

Should I help every visitor?

No. Use cameras first. Help only when the request and the hallway evidence agree.
